October 1956 Hot Rod had this great issue with Racer Brown writing about the "Stock Corvette". Note these old magazines generally only had color covers and a spot of primitive color on some pages. Below is one with spot color. The rest were all grey scale to save bandwidth space. They also hide the aging of this old paper.
