“Lime Rock Park: The Secret Valley of Racing”
CT PBS channel 10 here in SE CT reran the 2001 documentary “Lime Rock Park: The Secret Valley of Racing”. This video is a great hour on the history of this track, the drivers and this lovely area of Connecticut. It includes drivers John Fitch, Paul Newman, Sam Posey and Skip Barber. Regretfully there is no demo of it on the author/directors Chris Szwebo’s web site, however any of the following links will get you to a place to purchase it for less than $25.00 plus shipping.

All the following Chris Szwebo video’s are short demo’s and are a great way to enjoy motorsports and the their personalities and his talent.
The ChallengeThis short demo includes an animation of one lap at Lime Rock from the start finish line, through the sweeping right hand turn named Bend Bend then into the Esses and a couple of uphill curves to a steep uphill. Then from the top of the hill into West Bend that leads under the Limerock.com bridge to a steep downhill into a right turn back onto the main straightaway. Although the track has been modified at the base of the steep hill and at West end, one still gets a great view of the layout. I have many video's from this track at Doc's Fli.
Mercedes Tribute to John Fitch" Mercedes Benz commissioned this tribute to John Fitch as he was one of their factory race team drivers in the early 1950’s. From there he joined the Corvette race team in 1956 and Corvettes were never the same again. Footage includes him driving his Phoenix, which is always with him at the local races. I have lots of others jpegs and video's of this Connecticut treasure.
Lime Rock WinterThis short clip showing Lime Rock in the snowfall with the familiar tower, walk over bridge and sun shade shelter for race workers at Big Bend. I do the same in winter, and love the view and photograph a New England snow fall on my Barn.
A Gullwing at Twilight: The Bonneville Ride of John FitchThis clip shows John Fitch’s run at the 2005 Bonneville Salt Flats in a 1955 Gullwing Mercedes Benz. The nearly 90 year old Fitch drove this same model in European race events 50 years ago. We also get a glimpse of his wife and her feelings about his career as a driver.
Fantasy CarsJust a Bugatti Split Window Coupe out cruising in beautiful scenery, followed by a Mercedes Boat Tail Speedster. Lastly a silver Gullwing Mercedes.
Fantasy Cars 2Just a Jaguar D type and two Blood Red 1950’s Ferrari’s out cruising as if that isn't enough.
Fall RunA short clip of a racers thoughts and part of a lap at Lime Rock.
