June 5, 2005 LI, NY NCRS Race Car Event
We booked passage on the MS PT Barnum after being invited by notice of the LI Metro NCRS show. A gathering in terms of quality that trumped quantity.
In accord with our regal status, we were loaded first even though we arrived late. (Actually I simply flashed my NCRS ID card. ) Sometimes size really does matter.

Can you spot the race cars in this photo?

Anthony DeMonte, the driver and team owner of DeMonte Motorsports was the gracious host for this gathering of Corvette Race Cars. He drives the #38 Busch North Series Chevy Monte Carlo seen in the later pictures. Each of the Corvettes were driven from the parking lot into their race car garage and each owner gave a synopsis of their achievements and heritage. Sixteen Race Vettes!

On our return voyage, I spied this little boat in drydock at a local shipyard, and cannot help but think: "If my boat comes in, I hope it looks just like this". Sorta like C5, C6 and JLo in the beam. What a great way to spend a beautiful Sunday. And we saved driving 180 miles by taking the ferry across LI Sound.

If you didn't like the Race Car Corvette Show, you just ain't a car guy.
